How?
VoIP ( = Voice via Internet Protocol) or Internet telephony enables you to make phone calls at low cost via our network.

Technology?

As with a normal phone call speech is recorded analogously by the microphone integrated in the telephone. A transformer converts the data first into digital and then into audio formats while compressing them automatically.

The compressed data is then sent via our network, and because it is compressed no longer requires a complete telephone line as with a conventional phone call.

Thus the connection to a telephone network is eliminated in favour of transmission of IP packages on almost worldwide existing broadband Internet connections (DSL + WLAN).

At sipkom the data transmission as such is done via the SIP protocol.

Connections are made...

between Internet telephony users with their existing analogue telephone + VoIP adapter (e.g. Fritz Box Fon AVM) + broadband/DSL connection

getting connected while being away.

connections are available for our customers anywhere and at any time via our sipkom network.

between Internet telephony and landline network

How do connections to conventional landline telephones work technically?

Connections to conventional landline telephones

Gateways are connected on the one side to the conventional landline network and on the other side to our network. The calls are then passed on in both directions.
